🧭 Role Overview

We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to support the quality and reliability of an enterprise SaaS application platform. In this role, you will lead the planning, development, execution, and documentation of automated quality tests using Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript.

Working closely with a cross-functional Scrum team, you will ensure comprehensive test coverage across new and existing functionality through a robust end-to-end automation suite. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly collaborative, and passionate about building scalable automation frameworks that improve product quality and release confidence.


🚀 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance a suite of end-to-end automated tests, writing and executing scripts in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Work as an active member of an Agile Scrum team, providing accurate estimates and delivering within three-week sprints.
  • Collaborate with engineers and QA to identify, collect, and create test cases, test plans, and test data.
  • Ensure committed code is properly validated before release to production.
  • Identify recurring defects and recommend areas for quality improvement.
  • Update and maintain quality testing standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Participate in regression testing for release candidates and log defects when necessary.
  • Contribute to and maintain the product defect backlog, ensuring issues are tracked through resolution.
  • Participate in all Scrum ceremonies and quality planning activities.

🎓 Education and Experience

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related Engineering discipline preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in an Automation Quality Engineer role.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks using modern JavaScript-based tools, preferably Playwright.
  • Strong proficiency in API validation and automation.
  • 2+ years of experience working in Agile environments using Scrum practices.
  • 2+ years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to analyze, design, read, write, and explain JavaScript/TypeScript code.
  • Hands-on experience using Git effectively.
  • Experience with cross-browser testing using BrowserStack.
  • Familiarity with WCAG and Section 508 accessibility testing.
  • Experience migrating between testing frameworks is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of QA processes, test case design, and execution.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated technical curiosity and continuous learning mindset.
  • Ability to motivate and guide individual contributors is a plus.
