About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Java Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join our engineering team. In this role, you will play a key part in architecting, developing, and scaling high-performance distributed systems. You will work on production-ready microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud deployments, ensuring clean code, system reliability, and best engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-throughput microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
Event-Driven Systems: Implement event-driven architectures and messaging integration using Apache Kafka.
Data Modeling: Design, query, and optimize NoSQL databases using MongoDB for backend services.
Cloud & DevOps: Deploy, scale, and monitor containerized applications on OpenShift and/or AWS environments.
Technical Leadership & Quality: Drive code quality through rigorous code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration, and clean system design principles.
Problem Solving: Diagnose complex technical issues, optimize backend performance, and troubleshoot distributed systems in production.
Technical Qualifications
Senior Experience: 7+ years of hands-on software development experience with enterprise backend systems.
Core Java: Deep proficiency in Java (Java 8+), including modern concurrency, streams, functional programming, and design patterns.
Spring Framework: Proven experience building production-grade applications using Spring Boot and related ecosystem modules.
Microservices: Hands-on experience designing, developing, and operating distributed microservices architectures.
Event-Streaming / Messaging: Solid understanding of Apache Kafka and event-driven integration patterns.
Databases: Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB (NoSQL modeling, indexing, and query optimization).
Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with OpenShift and/or AWS (ECS, EKS, EC2, CloudWatch) for application deployment, scaling, and operational monitoring.
Soft Skills & Engineering Mindset
Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to debug complex cross-system challenges.
Code Excellence: Passion for writing clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-tested code.
System Design: Deep understanding of software design principles (SOLID, DDD, fault tolerance, circuit breakers).
Collaborative: Excellent communication skills and comfortable working in fast-paced Agile team environments.
Nice-to-Have (Bonus)
Experience with CI/CD automation pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Exposure to Kubernetes or Docker container orchestration.
Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) alongside MongoDB.
