System Engineer Hybrid, Denver, CO ID #00331
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support and manage customer infrastructure across networking, endpoints, servers, and cloud environments. This is a hands-on, hybrid role based in the Denver metro area — you’ll split time between remote work and on-site support at our cliente Denver and local customer sites. You will participate in incident response, troubleshooting, infrastructure improvements, and automation initiatives across a wide range of technologies, with a strong emphasis on networking and systems administration alongside cloud operations.
What you’ll be doing
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise networking equipment including Cisco access points and switches and Fortinet / FortiGate firewalls and security appliances.
- Provide on-site hands-on support at customer locations in the Denver metro area — including rack/stack, hardware replacement, network cutovers, and in-person incident response.
- Administer and support Windows Server, Linux, and endpoint environments across multiple customer accounts.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application incidents across networking, systems, identity, and cloud layers.
- Manage and support cloud environments across AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, ALB, RDS, VPC, VPNs, S3, and CloudFront.
- Implement monitoring and alerting to maintain system reliability and availability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on automation initiatives and Infrastructure as Code deployments.
- Assist with performance optimization, cost optimization, and architecture improvements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers and internal teams.
- Participate in operational processes including incident response and on-call rotations. Is this role for you?
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a systems, network, or infrastructure engineering role, ideally in an MSP or multi-customer environment.
- Strong networking background: hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise-grade networking equipment and security appliances, specifically Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
- Hands-on experience administering Windows Server, Linux, and related systems.
- Experience supporting identity and endpoint platforms (Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365).
- Working knowledge of AWS architecture and core services (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3).
- Experience designing and troubleshooting complex production environments.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience supporting databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Aurora RDS.
- Experience with endpoint management tooling such as NinjaRMM.
- Experience working in Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
- Fluent in spoken English.
- Must be based in the Denver metro area and able to work on-site 2 days per week at our client Denver and travel to local customer sites as needed. Desirable
- AWS certifications.
- Cisco and/or Fortinet certifications.
- Experience with containers (Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Azure or multi-cloud environments.
- Experience with cloud governance platforms such as MontyCloud.
- Experience with Trend Micro security solutions. Location

- Based in the Denver, Colorado metro area. On-site presence required at our client Denver and local customer sites 1–2 days per week, plus customer site visits as needed.
