We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team! Our client works within the Digital Agriculture industry and are based in San Francisco, CA. Their platform examines weather, soil and field data to help farmers determine potential yield-limiting factors in their fields.

As a Back End Developer in our client’s engineering organization, you will guide the architecture and design of their platform. You will be accountable for the design, technical stewardship of existing and next-generation APIs and Platform Services. You will drive the platform architecture that facilitates the sharing of quality farm data with our platform partners.

What You Will Do:

Assist prospective and existing partners as they integrate their products with our platform and help to resolve any engineering challenges
Create code examples and documentation to assist partners with data API integrations
Manage our developer portal
Develop software and tools that help partner integration and support
Contribute to the design and development of platform APIs
Have the option to participate in partner engineering activities and development workshops
Basic Qualifications:

BS, MS or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related technical field
3+ years of experience programming with OOP languages.
Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of experience programming in Java, Clojure, or Scala with focus on API integration efforts, as well as deployment in large cloud based distributed environments
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and listening skills with the ability to present complex engineering information in a clear and concise manner
Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices
Deep understanding of API design principles and patterns
Experience in one or more technologies: Oauth, RESTful API design, and AWS or other public Cloud platforms
Experience working with customers/partners/developers in the technical industry
